In November 2019, the value of new loan commitments for housing rose by 1.8%, seasonally adjusted. The number of loan commitments to owner occupier first home buyers dropped by 0.4% in October and 0.9% in December.
The value of new loan commitments for owner occupier housing rose by 1.6% in November, making it the sixth consecutive month of growth. The value of new loan commitments for investor housing also rose by 2.2% in November.
The value of new loan commitments to business for construction rose by 0.3% in November (in trend terms), while the value of new loan commitments to businesses for the purchase of property fell 2.3%.
