TPB and the new Code requirements from 1 July 2025

Jar Cab Pty Ltd Trading as Allan Accounting & Tax Solutions is a registered tax agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (the TPB).
All registered tax agents and registered BAS agents (collectively referred to here as registered tax practitioners) must comply with the requirements of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009. As part of those obligations, we are required to make all current and prospective clients aware of the matters set out below.


Information about the TPB Register

The TPB is responsible for the registration and regulation of tax practitioners to ensure they comply with the requirements of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.

The TPB maintains a public register that contains details of all tax agents and BAS agents that are currently registered with the TPB, including those whose registration has been suspended. The TPB Register also includes the names of certain unregistered entities and individuals.

Making a Complaint to the TPB

General Information about Rights, Responsibilities, and Obligations

The Tax Agent Services Act 2009 includes the Code of Professional Conduct, which outlines the standards tax practitioners must follow.

As a registered tax practitioner, we are obligated to:

  • Act lawfully in your best interests.

  • Act honestly and with integrity.

  • Manage any conflicts of interest.

  • Take reasonable care to ensure tax law compliance.

  • Provide competent and timely services.

Clients also have responsibilities:

  • Provide truthful and timely information.

  • Maintain and share required records.

  • Communicate any relevant changes.

  • Cooperate with requests and meet deadlines.

Prescribed Events Within the Last Five Years

We are required to inform clients if any of the following events occurred since 1 July 2022:

  • Suspension or termination of registration.

  • Bankruptcy or external administration.

  • Conviction of serious taxation, fraud, or dishonesty offences.

  • Imprisonment for six months or more.

  • Penalties or injunctions for promoting or implementing improper tax schemes.

  • Federal Court penalties under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.

We confirm that none of the above events have occurred during the relevant period.


Registration Conditions

We are also required to inform clients of any conditions placed on our registration that limit the scope of our services.

We confirm that there are no conditions currently imposed on our registration.
